Graphic Designers & Trade Shows

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

As a graphic designer, either in the web or print industry, it can sometimes be hard to get people to appreciate what it is you do. Yes, a designer brings order from chaos, creates form & function, and helps visually market goods and services. Essentially as a graphic designer you create something from virtually nothing and nowadays what is being created is intangible.

Wine Bottle Laser Etching

Sunday, October 24th, 2010

So this one is a bit late, and far overdue, however I was only finally able to get video to transfer from the camera to the computer. No thanks to Sony. Seriously… Who doesn’t make drivers for OS X these days?

Last year one of my friends got married and I wanted to give them a truly personalized gift. I discovered a few months before a small shop had bought a laser etching machine, so I approached them about laser etching a wine bottle.

Two months with an iPad

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Back in April I had received my iPad, a purchase made site unseen, and after two months of constant use, it has changed the way I run my small business, forever.

After months of craving for an iPod Touch, the iPhone has no coverage where I live, I knew instantly, while watching the announcement, this was going to allow me to do more outside of my office, without hauling a laptop. Waking up to the world

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

It’s been a long time coming and definitely something I should have had done about 4 years ago, but no matter how late it is I finally have it up and running. As a graphic designer & tech guru I see a lot of things happening at the moment, and as things change I want to share it with everyone.

As a freelancer I am privileged to have the opportunity to work on a lot of different projects for a lot of different clients. There’s nothing more exciting than working on a project and see it come to life and know people are happy.

Many people don’t know all the work that goes into something as simple as a logo design, but that is something I want to share here. The steps, the progress, my thoughts and decisions that bring the project from a simple conversation to a final, usable product. As I work on projects I plan on documenting them here so everyone has the chance to see what it takes to bring things to life. On top of it all, I really want to hear what others have to say, even the constructive criticism.

It may only takes minutes to use a website, but it can take weeks of planning and developing.
